Location
The Waldorf School of Cape Cod will begin its 25th year of operation in the 2008-2009 school year. Our school is located within a block of the Cape Cod Canal, gateway to Cape Cod and the islands (Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard), and close to Bourne Bridge, with easy access to Cape Cod and the rest of Southeastern Massachusetts. The natural beauty of the area is unprecedented, with water and beaches everywhere. A historical atmosphere prevails in all the surrounding communities, with the nearby towns of Plymouth and Sandwich being some of the oldest permanently inhabited areas of the country. We are within one hour’s drive of all that the cities of Boston and Providence have to offer. Also within a reasonable driving distance are the Waldorf training centers at Sunbridge College in Spring Valley, New York and Antioch New England Graduate School in southern New Hampshire.
Tuition Remission Policy
All salaried positions (including part-time positions) are currently eligible for 100% tuition remission for children enrolled in the school. Hourly positions are eligible for progressive tuition remission on a prorated basis. Hourly employees receive 50% tuition remission in the first year, 75% in the second year and 100% from the third year of employment.
Benefits
All full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for health care insurance. Employees who are salaried, and work 50% or more, are eligible on a prorated basis. Further details of the arrangements are available on request.
The WSCC selects the employee health care plan that provides the most comprehensive coverage and overall services to our employees at a reasonable cost. The value of our choice is revisited annually by vying the present plan against all other health care options for which we, as a small business, are eligible. Our main focus will continue to be to ensure that our employees receive the best coverage with the least out-of-pocket expense.
The WSCC has paid, and will continue to pay at least 50% of the employee's health care premium. The percentage mix may vary over the years. The precise annual ratio will be presented to the Board of Trustees (BOT) as a recommendation by the Finance Committee for approval at the April BOT meeting preceding the start of the next fiscal year July 1.
New employee coverage will not begin until a 30 day employee probationary period has been completed. New employees have that 30 day period to enroll in our HC program. If this time period passes without the employee enrolling, the employee must wait until the annual "Open Enrollment Period" which begins November 1, for coverage to begin December 1.
CORI Checks
All positions in the school require comprehensive employment (CORI) checks and appointments are subject to satisfactory references.
